CHART SHOWING THE MATHS NODES

The following charts show what each of the Poser maths functions do. Value_1 is show along the bottom of the chart. The Output value is shown up the left of the chart. The white square shows us the range zero to one, with zero at the bottom left. The Green lines shows value_2=0.8, Purple shows value_2=0.6, Red =0.4 and Blue =0.2. So, on the Add chart, the blue line shows us what happens when we add 0.2 to a number. If we want to see what happens when value_1=0.5, count along the bottom of the chart to the fifth gray line - that is 0.5. Follow that line up the chart until you meet the blue line, then count how many lines up you are. In this case, you are at the seventh line up, so 0.5+0.2=0.7. Try this on something a bit more complex such as Cosine, and you will find that Cosine (0.5)= about 0.8.

Those charts that only show a single dark green line ignore value_2 - this includes functions such as Sine, Cosine or Clamp. In other cases the lines overlap - min or max for instance. Here, it is normally possible to work out where the different values produce different results.
